It was a fun and rainy #BTWD2018

Despite the rainy morning, commuters all over the region chose to ride their bikes to work on Friday May 18, Bike to Work Day.

Here are some tweets and pictures capturing the spirit of the day:

We were pretty excited the day before.

Some pit-stops moved their festivities in more sheltered places.

College Park Mayor Patrick Wojahn led his annual convoy to Freedom Plaza in the District of Columbia. He kicked things off with a message.

In Bethesda, Montgomery County installed a pop-up protected bike lane.

Families were also undeterred by the rain.

Of course there were giveaways. Towels were a big hit for such a wet morning.

Of course there were bananas and coffee. At Eastern Market there were donuts and bagels too.

And everyone kept smiling.
